The Regent of Sampang, Madura, H Slamet Junaidi inaugurated the Southern Ring Road (JLS) with the name Jalan Halim Perdanakusuma, on Tuesday 31 January 2023. With the inauguration of the JLS it is hoped that it can increase the economic growth of the people in the district which is nicknamed the City of the Sea.

Head of DPUPR Sampang, Mohammad ZIS said that the Southern Ring Road (JLS) is a ring road that connects the west side area with the southern urban area of Sampang with a total length of 6,373 meters, passing through two Torjun and Sampang sub-districts, and passing through three sub-districts and four villages.

As for the purpose of constructing JLS, said Zis, as infrastructure for the center of economic development and acceleration of the decentralization of development programs in Sampang Regency in the future.

"I hope this JLS can benefit the community, because I want economic growth in the future," he concluded.
