South Sulawesi Governor, Andi Sudirman Sulaiman inaugurated the longest steel frame arch bridge in South Sulawesi, the Pacongkang mainstay bridge in Soppeng Regency was inaugurated, Wednesday, August 23, 2023.

"Alhamdulillah, inaugurated the longest steel frame arch bridge in South Sulawesi, the Pacongkang mainstay bridge in Soppeng Regency," said Andi Sudirman Sulaiman.

Construction is carried out in three stages. Bridge structure with arch steel frame. With the length of the stretch in the middle of 128 meters, the left and right spans are 25 meters each. or a total span of 180 meters, and a width of 7 meters, along with the support of left and right sidewalks of 1 meter each. 

"This bridge was built with a budget of Rp75 billion in the Provincial Budget, purely outside the budget of other supporting buildings," said Governor Andi Sudirman Sulaiman.

This will replace the wooden suspension bridge that was built 30 years ago or precisely in 1993. So it is no longer safe for public use.

"It has been completed and the benefits can be enjoyed for the community from Soppeng to the Citta tourist site," said Andi Sudirman Sulaiman.

Present at the inauguration of Members of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia, Members of the South Sulawesi Provincial DPRD, Regent of Soppeng - Vice Regent of Soppeng - Chairman and DPRD of Soppeng Regency - Forkopimda of Soppeng Regency, TNI-Polri and the community who attended and supported.
